    About Saima

Having lived in six vastly different countries, Saima grew up with a passion for people. She finds fulfillment in overcoming cultural and language barriers to create meaningful connections with everyone she meets. She has been extremely fortunate to visit over 50 countries.
Saima holds two Bachelors of Arts in International Relations’ and in Communications, where she graduated with distinction. Saima’s intrigue in the intersectionality of politics and modern ways of communication inspired her to write her Honor’s thesis on the use of social media in political campaigns. She has worked in experiential marketing for over 10 years and non-profit communications for 3 years.
When she is not behind her screen, you can find Saima skiing down the Rockies or experimenting in the kitchen. From skydiving over the Burj-Al-Arab to filming a live surgery, Saima is eager to try anything and you will rarely hear her say, “no.”

What drives Saima to push for a Calgary where there is Enough for All

"I work with Vibrant Communities Calgary because I truly believe there is already enough for all. The world has more than enough land, resources, and capacity for every person to live with dignity and comfort. The issue isn’t scarcity — it’s inequity, often driven by systems rooted in greed and exclusion.
I was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and have had the privilege of living in six countries and visiting 48. That experience has made it impossible to ignore the stark differences in people’s quality of life — sometimes across borders, and sometimes just across the street. Yet no matter where we are, we are all human, and every one of us deserves the right to live with dignity.
At my core, I am a storyteller and a convener. I use art to illuminate the deep interconnections between people, places, and systems — and to bring communities together. I believe that community is central to addressing inequality and promoting dignity."
